Glass Painting

Consultation and Discussion

This initial step allows us to gather the necessary historical knowledge for a faithful and respectful restoration and maintenance of the original work.

Stained Glass Removal

Once removed, the stained glass can be treated on-site or transported to the workshop.

Stained Glass Pouncing

Recreating the lead pathway to reposition the stained glass pieces correctly during unleading using a cutting plier.

Cleaning

Cleaning the glass pieces to remove old putty. Recutting broken pieces if necessary.

Bonding

Bonding with conservation silicone (a technique recommended by the historical monuments laboratory) or recreating missing pieces.
6

Leading

Leading with new lead, soldering, counter-soldering, puttying (ensuring the stained glass is sealed and rigid).
